About us

2025
As one of the UK’s leading foam and fibre converters, we have pledged a commitment to net zero manufacturing and improving our environmental impact in 2025, with our focus on reducing energy consumption.
In recognition of our sustainability initiatives, we were awarded the ‘Excellence in Sustainability’ Award by the British Furniture Association at the Furniture Component Expo in March.
2000 - 2005
During this transformative period, we introduced several continuous improvement initiatives throughout our design and manufacturing processes to increase operating efficiencies and minimise waste. This included an extensive machinery refurbishment programme, upgrading the lighting in our factory to LED, and installing 500 solar panels on our factory roof, which will generate sufficient energy to power our entire production facility.
We also continued to grow our position as the UK’s biggest supplier of upholstery kits to the trade.

2000
Under the leadership of Mike Crowshaw, the Peak Converters family has now grown to around 80 people.
Our hard working staff have a wealth of knowledge collected over many years.
Armed with our fully integrated machinery, bespoke MRP and scanning systems, our team can complete small or large batch production runs with incredibly short lead times.
1990's - Wirksworth's Largest Employer
A satellite factory was built in the 90's so we could cope with the ever increasing demand for sponges and shoulder pads...
Investment in technology and CNC machines allowed us to branch into the busy furniture sector.

Family Origins - 1970's
Alan Crowshaw and Pete Walker started selling foam filled pillows and cushions from market stalls in the early 70's.
Soon, a small factory, machinery and additional personnel were required to meet ever increasing demand.
Through the years, the Foam Conversion business grew rapidly, moving from a small manufacturing unit on Gorsey Bank to the factory on Water Lane that we occupy today.
